Rejected petition: End the Illegal Occupation of Palestinian Territories and Settlement Activity

Rejected on

Cessation of arms sales to Israel
Cessation of all trade with Israel whilst illegal occupation remains in place
Supporting an immediate and lasting ceasefire, adhered to by both parties
End of illegal settler activity and apartheid practice

As per an open letter sent to the Prime Minister I ask that we do more to support the human rights of Palestinians and end the illegal occupation, forced displacement, starvation, bombing, surveillance and constant threat of arrest without charge and imprisonment without trial.

For nearly eight decades the occupation has continued unchallenged and with persistent creeping borders and violent attacks on civilians and their homes.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for a similar action: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/768942

In addition, it is unclear as to which parties you are referring to regarding "an immediate and lasting ceasefire".

The UK Government has also already stated that they believe Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal and oppose the expansion of settlements, settler violence, and the annexation and forcible displacement of the Palestinian population.
