Rejected petition: Support Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Give the Government Time to Deliver
Rejected on
Back Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the elected Government to remain in office and deliver their manifesto commitments. We ask Parliament to support political stability, economic confidence and continuity of government, and reject efforts to remove the Prime Minister prematurely.
This petition calls on Parliament to support Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the Cabinet and the elected Government remaining in office to deliver the manifesto commitments they were democratically elected to carry out. At a time of economic and international uncertainty, continued political instability could damage public confidence, investment, public services and long-term planning. The Government should be judged by voters at the next General Election.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept petitions about appointments (
as PM) and decisions on how to vote are clearly for individual MPs to make.We are also not clear about what you actually want the Government/Parliament to do in the context of the Opposition having a right (indeed, all Members having a right) to vote against or for things they believe may be bad or good for the the country.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
