Open petition: Launch a public inquiry into the failures of HS2
Created by Bryn Williams
Closes on
Launch a public inquiry with statutory responsibility to hold to account anyone responsible for the costs on UK taxpayers due to HS2. The inquiry should look at ways to hold accountable those responsible for what we believe has been one of the greatest failures in public spending.
We believe politicians and officials responsible must be held accountable for failures relating to HS2. The original cost was around £30 billion; HS2 is now expected to cost over £100 billion with possible delays and worse service.
We believe UK citizens have the right to demand that those responsible for these failures are held accountable. The inquiry should look into putting a provision in place so that decision-making mechanisms in future projects ensure accountability from the outset.
