Rejected petition: Ban MPs from drinking alcohol or being under the influence whilst at parliament.
Rejected on
We demand that the government ban MPs from:
- Drinking alcohol whilst working at Parliament.
- Being under the influence of alcohol whilst working at Parliament
- Having an alcohol level above 35mg per 100ml of breath whilst working at Parliament.
In all other workplaces (schools, hospitals, etc), this would be banned as you have responsibilities that require you to be of sound mind and body.
MPs make the most important decisions that determine the UK's future, so why should they be allowed to make these decisions whilst under the influence of something that is known for preventing people from being of sound mind and body?
