Introduce independent accountability for SEND, education and children’s services professionals who make decisions about children based on opinion, bias or inaccurate information rather than evidence, where those decisions result in harm to children or families.
Too many families are aware individual professionals are making decisions about vulnerable children based on opinion, assumptions, bias or inaccurate information rather than evidence. These decisions can affect education, mental health and future opportunities. We want independent investigations and personal accountability for professionals whose misconduct, misrepresentation or evidence-free decisions are found to have caused harm to children or families.
