Children deserve privacy and protection. Strangers taking photos of children without consent can risk safety, exploitation and misuse online. Parents should have greater legal rights to protect their child’s image and privacy in public spaces.

Current UK law often allows strangers to photograph children in public without consent. Children are vulnerable, and images can be shared online, misused or stored without permission. It can quickly spread beyond parental control. UK law should better protect children’s privacy. Parents should have the right to protect their child’s image from unwanted photography by strangers. Current laws do not give enough protection when photos are taken in public places.
