Rejected petition: Don't Rejoin the European Union

Rejected on

Rejoining the EU would cause economic uncertainties ,require compliance with EU regulations, lead to an increase in immigration, increase UK energy costs raise expenses for British manufacturers and consumers.

plus The average Euro to British Pound exchange rate for the last six months was approximately 1 Euro = 0.8695 pence so for every £1000 savings we would lose £140. The government cannot just rejoin and hope nobody noticed or keep having referendums until they get the desired result

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Rejoining the EU is not current Government policy - and this petition appears to conflate that with joining the Euro-zone.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
