The Janbiah should be recognised as part of the official National Yemeni dress in the UK because it's a longstanding symbol of Yemeni cultural heritage and identity for Yemenis. It's not viewed as a weapon but as a ceremonial and cultural worn on special occasions, religious celebrations, weddings.
The Janbiah forms and important part of traditional Yemeni attire and reflects centuries of history. Yemeni dress helps support cultural expression, preserve heritage and promote understanding of the diverse communities that contribute to British society while remaining subject to appropriate laws and regulations concerning public safety.
