Require the Government and FCA to review and reform pet insurance regulations, including rules on pre-existing condition exclusions, excessive premium increases, co-payments, loyalty penalties and consumer protections.
Many pet owners are paying more for less cover and feel trapped. Annual premiums continue to increase substantially despite no claims being made, yet switching insurers often results in broad pre-existing condition exclusions. A one-off ear infection can lead to exclusions for ears, skin and paws, while a short-term gastric illness may exclude future digestive issues regardless of cause. Pet owners deserve stronger consumer protections and a fairer insurance market.
