Rejected petition: Fireworks to only be sold to licensed bodies and not individuals.
Rejected on
Fireworks should only be legally sold to licensed and regulated bodies, and not individuals.
It should be illegal to sell all sorts of fireworks to individuals. As they cause noise and harm to houses, shops, children, elderly, pets and animals. Especially when doing unannounced or at late nights.
Apart from general occasions for fireworks, Bonfire Night (5 November) and New Year's Eve (31 December), individuals can start unannounced and loud fireworks not only weeks before and after, also after their legal timing, be it even 2 or 4am.
And those loud fireworks can't be traced by the community or police. Meanwhile cause nuisance to families, children, elderly, disabled and pets.
Also unregulated fireworks have caused disturbance in communities with police called and shops catching fire.
