Rejected petition: Pensioner Rights Campaigner
Rejected on
The UK pension system is failing. Young adults cannot save due to high costs, and many pensioners are forced to work into old age just to survive. We must increase the State Pension to cover basic needs and improve savings support. It is time to ensure dignity for all generations.
Rising living costs mean young adults cannot save, creating a looming poverty crisis. Simultaneously, many pensioners must continue working long past retirement age just to survive, as the current State Pension (max £241.30/week) often fails to meet basic needs. We need a comprehensive review to increase the State Pension, support young savers, address gaps for the self-employed, and ensure dignity for all. It is time we work together to build a secure future for everyone.
