Open Severely restrict press reports on UK defence capabilities

We want the Government to place severe restrictions on the media reporting on the strength or weakness of our Army, the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. We believe the public do not need to know this information know while our enemies do.

On 7 June 2026 The Mail on Sunday reported: “Entire fleet of UK attack subs is unfit for war and stuck in dock.” Sunday Express states “Labour delays leave Britain weak’ at time of war” and on 6 June 2026 the Daily Mail reported that HMS Prince of Wales has “…broken down again” and the Daily Mirror reported that the £6.3 billion Ajax armoured vehicles are “…not fit for use” in combat. We think these reports undermine our national defence.
