Require police or local authorities to investigate fatal dog-on-dog attacks and assess the risk posed by the attacking dog. Give authorities powers to impose control measures where necessary, rather than waiting until a person is injured before action can be taken.
On 8 June 2026, my dog Rocky was fatally attacked by a neighbouring dog that breached a damaged boundary fence. Rocky died the following day. Despite the severity of the attack, I was informed that little action could be taken. Rocky’s Law would require investigation and risk assessment following fatal dog-on-dog attacks before a person is harmed.

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do, as it is already an offence under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 to let any dog get dangerously out of control in any place, thereby requiring the police to investigate.
In addition, it is a matter for the police, not the UK Government or Parliament, to decide how they handle crimes reported to them.
