Rejected petition: Hold a National Referendum on Confidence in the Government

Two years after the 2024 General Election, many voters believe the Government no longer has public support.
We call for Parliament to hold a confidence vote, and if the Government fails to retain confidence, a General Election should be called.
The Government was elected in July 2024, but many voters now feel it has failed to deliver the change that was promised. Things are only getting worse.
We recognise that governments are usually elected for up to five years, but democracy should remain accountable to the people.
If Parliament determines that the Government no longer retains confidence, we believe the British public should be given the opportunity to choose a new Government through a General Election.
