Rejected petition: Ban Balloon Releases
Rejected on
The dangers of balloon releases have long been documented. Wildlife, cattle, pets, etc, have been killed due to the litter the releases leave behind. It should be banned to help give our wildlife an increased chance of survival.
Animals can choke on the balloons as they, inevitably, land on the ground. Animals have been found with the ribbons wrapped around their body. Many have died as a result.
The banning of balloon releases doesn't stop someone remembering, or honouring, a loved one. But it does help give our wildlife a fighting chance.
