Provide grants to remove spray foam insulation installed under government schemes, and give a full refund to homeowners who have already had to pay out-of-pocket to remove it so they could secure a mortgage, remortgage, or sell their house.
Tens of thousands of UK homeowners are facing severe financial crisis due to spray foam insulation installed under Gov’ backed initiatives including the 2020–2021 Green Homes Grant. While marketed as energy-efficient, major mortgage lenders, Surveyors now widely reject properties with this insulation due to the risk of roof timber damage. The Government promoted, vetted these installations. It is unjust that homeowners are now bearing severe financial consequences of a government approved scheme
