Rejected petition: Introduce Broken-Glass Policy to policing

Rejected on

I believe that the true reason a lot of criminals go unpunished is due to the responses of the police when a call/report is made. To fix this i believe that the country should have broken glass policy same as in New York where the police respond to all calls no matter how big or small.

Police sometimes don’t respond to “lesser offences” such as vandalism or car thefts as they are seen as petty but it still affects the victim but they don’t get any justice out of it. I believe that if the broken glass policy was introduced we would follow in the city of New York’s footsteps and crime rates would go down and people would be punished for committing crimes instead of being left to go and do it again and again affecting more and more people in the process.
