Rejected petition: Stop all animal testing in the UK

Rejected on

As part of my GCSE Active Citizenship work I've investigated the use of animals in testing across the UK. I found that it is harmful, cruel & unnecessary.
I think all animal testing for medical purposes & for cosmetics should be banned. My research told me that there are suitable alternatives.

From my research I was shocked to find that the tests that are carried out on a range of animals can be extremely cruel and unnecessary. The results are often considered unreliable as the tests fail and the results aren't relevant to humans. Another shocking finding of mine was about the species of animals that have been specifically bred for testing; I think this is immoral as they are often are often killed anyway meaning their suffering was for nothing.
