Rejected petition: More rights for fathers when mothers unlawfully stop contact
Rejected on
After witnessing my partners ex partner just stop contact without warning or a given reason more needs to be done to help fathers. Call the police, its a civil matter. Contact social services nothing can be done as with mum. Yet mums can do this with no repercussions and father's and children suffer
Getting fathers noticed that when contact is stopped without given reason that mothers are held accountable for there actions as currently they can stop contact tactics with no prior warning and nothing is done. A stern word from a judge when it goes to court, which could take months and in the mean time children have no contact with dad which means the relationship is strained too.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We do not know what specific measures you would like to introduce that do not exist already. There is already the option to apply for a court order in these circumstances. You can find more about what steps can be taken here: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/family/making-agreements-about-your-children/your-child-arrangements-arent-working/
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
