Rejected petition: COMPLAINT FAKE COS’s, IMMIGRATION FRAUD, MONEY LAUNDERING,MODERN SLAVERY RISKS
Rejected on
Government should establish stronger protections for affected workers, including confidential reporting channels, support for whistleblowers, and safeguards against retaliation. Taking these actions will help protect vulnerable migrant workers, uphold employment standards, prevent exploitation
I would like the UK Government and Parliament to take urgent action to investigate and eliminate the abuse of the Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visa sponsorship system. While most employers comply with the law, there are increasing reports that some sponsors, recruiters, and associated businesses may be exploiting migrant workers and undermining the integrity of the UK’s immigration system. I call on the Government to strengthen enforcement against sponsors who issue Certificates
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We understand that you are concerned about modern slavery and the Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visa, but we're not sure what action you'd like the Government to take to strengthen its current approach to tackling modern slavery.
To get confidential advice and support, members of the public and potential victims can call the modern slavery helpline for free on 0800 0121 700 or make a report online at https://www.modernslaveryhelpline.org/report
The Government already has the National Referral Mechanism (NRM). This is a framework for first responders for identifying and referring potential victims of modern slavery and ensuring they receive the appropriate support. You can find the Government guidance, including the list of first responder organisations, here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/human-trafficking-victims-referral-and-assessment-forms/guidance-on-the-national-referral-mechanism-for-potential-adult-victims-of-modern-slavery-england-and-wales
If there are changes you would like the Government to make to the National Referral Mechanism, you could start a petition about that.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
