Rejected petition: Keeping social media aloud for 12 and over with parental consent until 16!

Rejected on

Stop under 16s getting banned from social media as it could be possible it Is their only opportunity to branch out and reach friends if they live abroad it could be there only chance. Therefore they should change it to 12 and upwards with parental consent and without it at 16 onwards.

Although social media could be used for the bullying, the people doing that could just be permanently banned from that app. For many young adults, social media is there only chance to be social for many different reasons. Some being; they could struggle being social in real life because of physical limitations or insecurities, they could live abroad from their friends/family and through social media could be there only chance to communicate. Therefore I think the government should consider it.
