Rejected petition: Create a National Grooming and Child Exploitation Taskforce
Rejected on
Create a permanent national taskforce to investigate and prevent grooming and child sexual exploitation. Local systems have repeatedly failed. A specialist multi‑agency unit is needed to identify networks, share intelligence and ensure victims receive consistent protection.
Major inquiries into Rotherham, Rochdale, Oldham and Telford show repeated failures in policing, safeguarding and intelligence‑sharing. Local systems lack specialist expertise and coordination. A permanent national taskforce is needed to identify networks, support victims consistently and prevent further harm across the UK.
