Rejected petition: Make the NHS a cross party issue. Stop using the NHS for political vote scoring.

Rejected on

I want government to consider and debate making the NHS a cross party responsibility.
I want parliament to remove decision making about the NHS from one political party.
I want this government to stop the NHS from being used as a political pawn in future elections.

The NHS is highly politicised.
The UK has had 9 different Secretaries of State for Health and Social Care over the last 10 years, each one making changes with no consideration of long term planning beyond their term in government. Each change destabilises the NHS with constant strategic shifts.
This is causing harm to patients, is extremely costly and is damaging to its staff.
Stop the NHS being vulnerable to the whims of one political party.
We demand cross-party decisions for our NHS

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We do not find it clear from your petition what specifically you want the Government or Parliament to do. You could set start a petition to set up a Royal Commission, or something like that, on the future of the NHS with cross-party representation, to try and come up with a long-term plan, for example.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
