Rejected petition: Don’t introduce a night time curfew for 16 to 17 year olds on social media.

Rejected on

The government should leave parents and guardians to monitor their 16 to 17 year olds social media and enforce rules and instead focus on removing the harmful content circulating instead of removing them.
They are mature and can decide what to spend their time doing, a curfew is not necessary.

16 to 17 year olds are currently behind debated to be banned from social media during the night. Yet they are mature enough to monitor their own social media and have the help of trusted adults if they are facing problems. It shouldn’t be up to the government to dictate what young adults do it should be themselves and the parents/ guardians.
