Rejected petition: Protect tenants more
Rejected on
Hold landlords accountable when cutting off electricity and water followed by two fires. Make the police more powerful over private land as landlords think they can do what they want without any consequences to the tenants, their businesses or livelihoods
Pioneer Mill in Radcliffe, Manchester has been on fire twice, water and electric both turned off by the landlords before hand, preventing any alerts. Tenants loosing earnings, livelihoods, businesses etc, as the police as stuck at what they can do as its private land. Materials being sold from the building e.g. slates before businesses can remove their stock etc. Some people loosing everything but unable to get insured so cannot make a claim.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
this isn't specific enough about what you want the Government to do in the title and the first line of your petition seems to reference only the individual case you are talking about (and about which we couldn't accept a petitions).
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
