Open petition: Ban all identify verification checks online
Created by Aston Flockton
Closes on
The Government should pass a law which removes all ID checks on the internet as we feel there is fundamentally no way of safely securing that stores ID information. We believe the idea you can check IDs without having to connect to a database is absurd and that there are massive security risks.
We feel it creates backdoors for malicious users and hackers to manipulate operating systems. We are concerned about foreign companies storing British citizens’ data, the possibility of deleted traces of data still existing, and significant safety risks existing even if the data is temporarily stored.
