We call on the Home Secretary to mandate that police prioritize medical care over restraint for people in distress. Following tragic triage failures, we demand updated College of Policing guidelines, enhanced trauma training for internal bleeding, and an audit of control room communications.
The Home Office should:
1.Formally update the College of Policing guidelines to state that the duty of care and medical triage must operate entirely independent of any initial allegations of race, religion, or culpability.
2.Introduce mandatory, enhanced training for all frontline officers, focusing specifically on recognizing the signs of internal bleeding.
3.Require an immediate, independent audit of how emergency control rooms communicate threat and medical information to arriving officers.
