Rejected petition: We demand a General Election

Rejected on

Andy Burnham does not have a direct mandate from the British public to serve as Prime Minister. We therefore call on the Government to hold a general election without delay, allowing the British people to determine who should govern the country.

Andy Burnham has not received a mandate from the British electorate to serve as Prime Minister. A change in the country’s leadership should be decided by the people, not simply through an internal party process. We therefore call on the Government to dissolve Parliament and hold a general election, giving the British public the opportunity to choose who should lead the country.
