Rejected petition: National Workplace Heat Alert System with Enforceable Work Restrictions

Rejected on

The Government should introduce a legal maximum temperature for workplaces, schools, colleges and universities. When temperatures reach unsafe levels, institutions should be required to close or move activities online, just as minimum temperature standards already exist.

Current regulations include minimum temperature requirements but no equivalent maximum limit. During periods of extreme heat indoor environments can become unsafe & affect health concentration & productivity. A national heat alert system should trigger mandatory protections including remote learning or working and temporary closures when temperatures exceed safe levels. provisions should be considered to provide more air condition for internal spaces & external misting systems as france provides
