Rejected petition: School closure on temperatures over 25°C

Rejected on

Close schools when temperatures are over 25°C

Require all schools in the UK to close when temperatures exceed 25°C during heatwaves to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of students and staff.

We believe temperatures above 25°C can make classrooms uncomfortably hot, affecting concentration, learning and health. Many school buildings are not designed to stay cool during heatwaves, which can increase the risk of heat-related illness and discomfort for pupils and staff.
