Rejected petition: Call for an immediate general election
Rejected on
Of the back of Keir Starmer's resignation, a general election should be held. The UK voted for Keir Starmer as the leader of the Labour Party and his mandate. A new leader of the party is not what the UK citizens have voted for and it is only fair that the UK get to vote again.
A new leader (not voted in by the UK citizens) would have a new mandate and new ideas. These ideas are not necessarily in the UKs best interests. Four of the six last prime ministers have not been voted in by UK citizens. The UK deserves a general election.
