Rejected petition: Require schools to close when temperatures exceed safe limits

We want the Government to set a maximum classroom temperature of 26°C. (Around what the WHO suggests) When temperatures exceed this limit, schools should close or move to remote learning to protect pupils and staff from heat-related health risks and unsuitable learning conditions.
This petition is to stop students and staff from being at further risk to heat related illnesses, specifically now when we are at more of a risk to heat waves and hot summers due to climate change and global warming. Without this set as a law, schools may open and close when they like and potentially put students and staff in unworkable conditions, affecting both physical, emotional, and mental health negatively.
Why was this petition rejected?
