Rejected petition: Urge the UK Government to invite the USA as a guest in the Commonwealth Games.

Rejected on

The Commonwealth Games face serious challenges, including escalating hosting costs, shrinking scale, and difficulties attracting hosts. Inviting the United States to participate, as a guest nation, presents a powerful opportunity to secure and revitalise this iconic event.

This would boost prestige, attract millions of new viewers, broadcasters, and sponsors, generating vital revenue to offset costs and improve sustainability.
Hosting would become far more viable, with strong economic and tourism benefits.
US participation would also strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties with Commonwealth nations such as Canada, India, and Nigeria.
We urge the UK Government to support formal invitations for US involvement, ensuring the Games thrive for future generations.
