Open petition: Ban greyhound racing in England
Created by Lydia Hart

We believe greyhounds deserve protection, not exploitation for profit. Greyhound racing causes injuries and deaths to dogs every year. Wales has committed to banning the sport and Scotland is ending it.
We believe England should follow their lead and put animal welfare first by introducing a ban on greyhound racing.
Greyhound racing continues to cause injuries and deaths to dogs in England each year. Although welfare measures have been introduced, serious concerns remain about the treatment of racing greyhounds and their quality of life. Wales has announced plans to ban greyhound racing, and Scotland is moving towards ending the sport. We believe England should follow suit by introducing legislation to ban greyhound racing and prioritise animal welfare over commercial interests.
