Rejected petition: Expand Heat Pump grant to cover air conditioning.

Rejected on

While the government has supported a move to air to water heat pumps for home heating, the same cannot be said for air to air heat pumps otherwise known as air conditioning. Given the climate this should change.

Air conditioning (air to air heat pumps) have been used for home heating and cooling for decades, especially in countries such as Japan and north America, where "Central air" is common in homes.
I have had to personally invest in the technology and I have benefitted from recent heat waves, but the ideal goal of this and solar has been out of reach due to lack of funding assistance.
The Government should extend the heat pump grant to include ALL gas and oil replacement technologies.

Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.

We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

Homeowners in England and Wales can already receive government grants for installing air-to-air heat pumps through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which provide cooling.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
