Rejected petition: Split the spectrum
Rejected on
Hello,
I would like to make it a legal requirement to split the spectrum from one fits all to severity to minor. This is to shorted wait lists for children who are serve who require intervention early, children who are denied this right because one fits all no matter what the child’s needs are.
Splitting the spectrum does not mean anyone gets left out. It means people get support that actually matches their needs. Same word: autism. Completely different support needs. If profound autism were recognised as its own category. Services for children with severe intellectual disability and 24/7 support needs. We wouldn’t be waiting on such long lists!
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We are not clear what specific action you are calling for. Assessments for support are already based on individual need.
You could start a new petition setting out more clearly what action you are calling for.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
