Rejected petition: Do not restrict access to Rougier Street York

Rejected on

Stop York Council from restricting access to Rougier Street.

The proposed restrictions will force local companies, Private Hire Vehicles (non hackney taxis), delivery drivers to lose revenue. The congestion will hit other areas. A bus will save up to 6 minutes on one tiny stretch of road between the hours of 15:00 and 18:00 but the extra congestion added to other routes could be huge. The most vulnerable people will be forced to spend extra money taking longer more congested routes via PHV. Deliveries will be nearly impossible to local businesses.
