Rejected petition: Make interviews for job roles more accessible to people with disabilities.
Rejected on
Make interviews more accessible to disabled individuals. Time and time again employers like to give off a self image where they pride themselves on being equality driven and discrimination free. However if you have an adequate cv and disclose your disability this can motivate to reject applications.
As a disabled person and having spent years applying for jobs I can say that as a disabled person gaining employment is impossible regardless of the position I apply for. I think disabled people are seen as less worthy or capable of filling positions when compared to those without difficulties. I want to create a petition that advocates for, supports disabled people and get disabled individuals the opportunities that they deserve. Discrimination does exist as employment is not accessible to us.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Your title seems to be asking for something in particular but the main text is unclear as to what that is. We really don't know what they are asking for that isn't already covered by the Equality Act or other anti-discrimination laws.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
