Rejected petition: Create a GCSE course that allows 15/16 to gain work experience and skills

Rejected on

The UK government should create a GCSE course (or fund a GCSE course) that teachs 15/16 year olds the key skills needed to get into work as well as the course should include a Mandatory work experience period to pass. The work place that take students for the this should also receive funding.

In the uk af the moment young people struggle to get job because places don't want to hire people who have no expand just knowledge of specific areas. This course would allow young people to gain an all around knowledge of work an give them vital experience for their first job. It would also allow work place to feel more confident in hiring a young person because they can see the qualification and know what it is. It won't solve all youth unemployment but it will be big help in minimizing it.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We are not clear what GCSE course you would like taught that includes a component of mandatory work experience as you suggest.

We do have a couple of petition open on GCSEs and work experience which you may wish to sign:
