Open petition: Require energy providers to auto-switch pensioners onto the cheapest tariff

Legally require energy providers to automatically move people above the State Pension age onto the cheapest energy tariff option, and for this to be reviewed every 3 months and in line with the energy price cap.

We believe pensioners shouldn’t need to worry about variable rates or missing out on fixed or flexible tariff energy deals. Instead, we believe energy companies should be legally required to automatically move people over the State Pension age onto the cheapest energy tariff option. This should be reviewed every 3 months in line with the energy price cap.
