Open petition: Require employers to notify all interviewees of their hiring outcome

Created by Suzanna King
Closes on

The law does not legally require employers to inform interviewees if they are unsuccessful. This "ghosting" can cause stress for job seekers. We call on the Government to require employers to notify all job candidates of their application’s outcome after an interview, even if it is automated.

There is currently no legal requirement for employers to inform interviewees if they have been unsuccessful. This common practice of "ghosting" can leave candidates in limbo, cause unnecessary anxiety and damage morale during an already stressful job search.

Requiring a simple, automated notification could ensure closure and transparency for all job seekers.
