Rejected petition: Introduce legal classroom temperature limits and fund schools

Rejected on

Fund and require heat resilience measures in all primary school classrooms to protect children and staff during increasingly frequent heatwaves caused by climate change, ensuring safe learning environments across the UK.

Heatwaves are becoming more frequent due to climate change. Many primary schools were built to retain heat in winter and become dangerously hot in summer. High classroom temperatures affect children’s health, wellbeing and learning, and create unsafe conditions for staff. The Government should fund heat resilience improvements, including effective cooling where needed, to keep classrooms safe.
