Rejected petition: Make is UK law to install air conditioning in all educational classrooms
Rejected on
Heatwaves are becoming increasingly the norm within the UK. Pupils are still expected to be able to learn in very hot classrooms with no ventilation. We call government to make it law for fully working air conditioning to be installed in all UK classrooms-nursery, schools, colleges and universities
Pupils are expected to continue with their learning in classrooms without effective cooling ventilation systems. Fans (if they're lucky) and windows open are not effective and put pupils at risk of heat exhaustion and feeling unwell, especially during heatwaves which are becoming a much more regular occurance within the UK. We call for the government to make it UK law for every educational establishment to install fully working air conditioning in all classrooms and pupil spaces.
