Require all new and refurbished public playgrounds to include inclusive play equipment for children who use wheelchairs or have mobility impairments, so every child has the opportunity to play alongside their friends.
Across Somerset, too many children who use wheelchairs or have mobility impairments are unable to enjoy local playgrounds because the equipment is not designed for them. We ask Somerset Council to make inclusive play equipment a requirement in all new and refurbished parks and to upgrade existing play areas. No child should have to sit and watch while others play. Every child in Somerset deserves the same opportunity to play, make friends and be included.
