Rejected petition: Introduce a new law to have working Air conditioning in HGVs and vans.
Rejected on
Introduce a new law that makes it compulsory for employers to provide air conditioned vans and lorries for their drivers. This law should prohibit employers from sending drivers out in vehicles not fitted with air conditioning in temperatures above 21C.
We believe drivers are treated more poorly than dogs, expected to drive vans and lorries in temperatures above 21C in summer, in vehicles without proper cooling systems. This is dangerous as it can increase drowsiness and can be very uncomfortable. If you left a child or pet in a vehicle in these conditions you could be sent to prison! So why drivers?
