Open petition: Review options for reform for Northern Ireland's devolved government

Created by Liam Long
Closes on

We believe Northern Ireland's devolved government is too divided. It has repeatedly collapsed, delaying decisions on healthcare and public services. Review whether reforms or even direct rule from Westminster would provide more stable government, while fully respecting the Good Friday Agreement.

Northern Ireland's devolved government has repeatedly collapsed, which has delayed decisions on healthcare, education and other vital services. We believe its politics is too often dominated by constitutional divisions instead of improving people's lives. The UK Government should review whether Stormont needs reform or, if necessary, whether direct rule from Westminster would provide more stable and effective government, while fully respecting the Good Friday Agreement.
