Rejected petition: Ban the sale of fireworks to the general public.

Rejected on

I urge the government to ban the sale of fireworks to the general public due to wildfire risk, environmental harm, health impact and animal distress.

Misuse of Fireworks have been linked to UK wildfires igniting grassland and moorland. These incidents endanger the public, wildlife, and emergency service personnel. Fireworks release chemical residues that contribute to respiratory problems. Beyond this, the extreme noise severely affects wild animals, livestock and pets. Fireworks have become an escalating risk and continuing this outdated practice is irresponsible. I urge the Government to ban the sale of fireworks to the general public.
