Rejected petition: Retain the Primary PE & Sport Premium for schools & protect specialist coaching
Rejected on
A call to keep the direct £320million per year Primary PE and Sports Premium in UK primary schools and scrap the newly proposed 'PE & School Sports Partnerships Network' which will operate with a reduction in funding & cause cuts in current after school clubs & specialist coaching.
We call on the UK Government to retain the Primary PE & Sport Premium and reverse plans to replace it with a reduced funding model.
This funding provides high-quality PE, specialist coaching and sporting opportunities that improve children’s health, wellbeing and confidence.
Cutting it risks losing experienced coaches, reducing opportunities for pupils and increasing inequality.
Schools should have the ability to employ sports staff & every child deserves access to quality PE & school sports.
