Rejected petition: Restrict Data centres

Rejected on

AI is damaging the environment at a catastrophic rate, people are abusing AI by asking a chatbot about a relationship, or simply making a silly video.
This is causing more data centres to pop up, more usage, more detrimental impact on the environment.

AI is officially becoming a global issue. the impact of AI has increased the environmental damage we our self's have done. Data centres are pumping out more emissions into the air whilst sucking up all the water from the local water reserves.
The centres are impacting neighbourhoods, wildlife, and are killing the land we are meant to be proud of.
If the government is serious about net zero, then allowing data centres in the uk would not only contradict this but also undermines the plans.
