Children deserve safe schools. Yet an unknown adult can repeatedly enter school grounds, bypass security, cause alarm and require police attendance without committing a criminal offence. We call on the Government to close this safeguarding gap and protect our children.
Children deserve safe schools. Recently, an unknown adult repeatedly entered a primary school site, allegedly bypassing security by following a child onto the grounds, returning multiple times and prompting police attendance. Parents were told that despite the alarm caused and safeguarding concerns raised, no criminal offence had been committed. We are calling on the Government to close this gap in the law and make unauthorised access to school premises a criminal offence.
